Welcome to the new website of the Portuguese Union of Air Traffic Controllers (SINCTA), and the Portuguese Association of Air Traffic Controllers (APCTA)
Established in Lisbon, in 1975, the Portuguese Association of Air Traffic Controllers aim to represent and defend the professional interests of the Portuguese air traffic controllers, promoting the development of the technical conditions under which they operate, fostering closer ties of solidarity and carrying out cultural initiatives , recreation and sports (art 1 of its statutes).
Later, in 1980, the Portuguese Union of Air Traffic Controllers was established with the objective of defending by all means at its disposal, the interests of members, be they social, moral or material, without prejudice to the collective interest.
Both institutions represent the majority of the Portuguese Air Traffic Controllers who carry out their activity, at the Lisbon, Oporto, Cascais and Faro aerodromes and Lisbon ACC in the mainland, at the Funchal and Porto Santo Aerodromes in the Madeira islands and at the Ponta Delgada, Santa Maria, Horta, and Flores aerodomes and Santa Maria ACC in the Azores islands.
APCTA is a member of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Associations (IFATCA) and SINCTA is a founding member of the Air Traffic Controllers European Union Coordination (ATCEUC).
